Nothing too much trouble, we truly enjoyed the place. Good staff and stunning location in the historical center, everything was wonderful. This was our 2nd stay, they offered deluxe queen room with a view of the zocalo. The morning meal was outstanding and incredible with fresh products, home made waffle, amazing views

Lovely Experience in the Heart of the City
Staying here was a dream! The rooftop restaurant served a good buffet that kept us fueled for the day. Watching the sunset over the Zocalo from our room was amazing. Don't miss the chance to enjoy a cocktail at the rooftop bar! Tip, get to the rooftop early for the best views!

Fabulous, traditional hotel in a great location. We chose it for our last night in Mexico after a 3 week beach holiday and were not disappointed. A throw-back to the 1900's both in style and service.
The 1st floor restaurant / coffee shop closed at 5.00pm - should be open later.

EVERYTHING!....but we do not care about gyms or spas and love city centers with history and art rather than being surrounded by only wealthy people.

Architectionally a real jewel, incredible glass roof atop of the grand hall, and well working ancient elevator (as well as 2 new ones). Excellent location right on one corner of Zocalo square with absolutely stunning views at any time of day, mostly evening and night or early morning/dawn (try to get a room on 3rd to 1st floor with direct view on the square). Splendid location of a good rooftop restaurant, with spectacular views as well and more than reasoble prices. Staff very friendly and always helpful. Good breakfast with huge quantities of food at a very good price. So over 9 up to even 10 points from other guests are quite understandable though seem somewhat euphoric to me because of the actual negative points.
On the whole hotel and rooms and bathrooms very clean and well kept, but the carpeting at least worn out heavily, in part shabby and dusty-dirty. Toilet flush not working properly and could not be repaired in my time of a 5 nights stay and no toilet brush to clean after use. ..... If this would be changed my ranking would certainly be 9,5 or even above. .... The events in the hall and on 1st floor which other guests tell about certainly can be noisy, but in my case they by themselves offered a different quieter room for the night of the event which I did not need as being off for the evening myself. I think the hotel needs these events as the number of rooms is rather limited for a very large building in this location.

Excellent architecture and decor throughout the hotel.
The chaos started early in the morning and continued late into the night. Despite my numerous complaints to the management, they only offered a free breakfast on my last day.

The best location and the best view from the restaurant. It's worth to stay.I had some troubles about my suitcase and health during my stay but the staff there were all quite supportive.

Loved this hotel, it's an architectural gem and really comfortable. The location is perfect for getting to know the city and utilizing the local tour buses. The food in both restaurants was great and the local restaurants downtown are also. Staff was always very helpful and kind.

The hotel's grand glass roof and historic charm were fine. The rooftop view was lovely, perfect for our family dinner. Staff were genuinely friendly, especially when they helped us explore the local area.
In my wife's opinion, extra activities for kids would be great.

This was the final stopover after a hectic two week trip around Mexico. We were very tired and were looking for a real treat to end the holiday... and this it most definitely was! Greeted at the desk with a glass of chilled champagne, Cynthia the bowler hatted receptionist was charm itself. Arriving early was no problem, bags whisked away to our suite, a short tour of their stunning foyer with a Tiffany glass Art Nouveau ceiling and matching elevators, dinner on the terrace overlooking the Independence Square and then to bed with crisp sheets and a late night snack to boot. Wanted to stay on for extra hours after checkout time - no fuss, no problem. All in all one of the best experiences I had had in Mexico .
Nothing really to note other than the shower water took a long time to drain ..so minor!

We booked reasonably spacious and upgraded a deluxe room with views to the zocalo and could use wake-up service, available in it.
The staff were very rude, didn't expect that coming.

The beautiful Tiffany-type ceiling in the lobby and the friendly doorman added charm to our historic experience. Every time we returned to the hotel, the staff remembered our names, making us feel valued.

Loved our stay at this grand hotel. The doorman Jamie added a fantastic personal touch. I would suggest some seating areas on each floor and a secluded guest area to relax that is not just seats in main atrium area. Minor points for a beautiful hotel
